The School of Marxism of Nankai University is established in 1997 and is one of the earliest Schools of Marxism in China. In January 2016, the school is selected as one of the first batch of National Key Institute of Marxism. In February 2019, the school is selected into the first batch of National Key Research Bases for Teaching Material Construction. With the journal Teaching and Research on Marxist Theory being approved for publication in July 2020, and the overall construction and development of the school has reached a new level.

The school currently comprises of 8 teaching institutions (Undergraduate Teaching Department, Teaching and Research Section of Ideological and Political Course for Graduates Students, Teaching and Research Section of Basic Principles of Marxism, Teaching and Research Section of Conspectus of Chinese Modern History, Teaching and Research Section of Mao Zedong Thought and the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, Teaching and Research Section of Ideological, Morality and Law, Teaching and Research Section of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, Teaching and Research Section of Situation and Policy)and 3 research departments (Department of Basic Theory of Marxism, Department of Sinicization of Marxism, Department of Ideological and Political Education).

There are  important teaching and scientific research platforms in the school. In addition to National Key Research Bases for Teaching Material Construction, there is also a Training Base for Teachers of Ideological and Political Course, and a Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, Tianjin Research Alliance on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, Tianjin Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences—Marxism Research Center, Tianjin Collaborative Innovation Center of Basic Principles of Marxism. The school also cooperates with the 21st Century Marxism Research Institute, Research Institute of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and Research Center for Intra-Party Regulations of Nankai University to develop the Marxism theoretical discipline group based on the strength of the whole university.

1. Positions and Requirements

(1) Talent introduction

Recruitment for talent introduction positions is open all year round. Applicants can apply at any time. Youth Academic Leader

Applicants should have obtained a Ph.D. degree and have reached the academic level of associate professor/associate researcher of Nankai University; Applicants  should meet the age requirements for young academic leaders and talent introduction. The age of applicants for deputy senior positions is no more than 38 years old, and the age of applicants for senior positions is no more than 45 years old.Applicants  should have the academic development potential and independent innovation abilities, have a good research foundation and planning of the academic frontier. Applicants  should have the ability to form a competitive academic teamand set innovative and feasible research projects according to the urgent needs of national development and international academic frontiers.

(2) Faculty and Staff

Basic Requirements

Law-abiding, good conduct, hard-working, decent academic style, healthy body and mind, with good professional background and development potential;

Have a high level of foreign language (have a CET-6 license, or have good foreign language listening, speaking, reading and writing skills);

Obtain the academic degree certificate before December 31, 2023;

The full-time postdoctoral candidates of Nankai University should apply in accordance with the relevant regulations of Nankai University.

Position Requirements

Applicants should be under 35 years of age, with a PhD degree, at least 2 years of full-time postdoctoral research;

(3) Postdoctoral Recruitment

Applicants should have good professional ethics and professionalism, abide by the law and discipline, have good academic, political and moral quality. Applicants should be outstanding doctoral graduates, have high academic level, the ability to undertake national research projectsand  the development potential to become a full-time school teacher. Applicants must be under 35 years old and have graduated within three years.
