On March 23rd, 1949, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China left Xibaipo and headed for Beijing, which was known as the "Exam-taking Day". On the eve of this year's "Exam-taking Day", Nankai University, in collaboration with Shijiazhuang No.1 Middle School, planned to carry out an integrated practical teaching of ideological and political course in Xibaipo. Through diverse forms such as immersion visits, cross—grade-section seminar and field surveys, they jointly explored the innovative mode forthe integration of ideological and political education in primary, secondary schools, and universities.. TheprogressiveTeaching Themes in Different Grade Sections


In the Xibaipo Memorial Hall, the junior middle school section takes "carrying forward Xibaipo Spirit" as the theme, the senior middle school section takes "drawing the blueprint of a new-democratic country" as the theme, and the university section takes "exploring the answer to break free from the' historical cycle rate'" as the theme. Under the guidance of teachers, students conduct inquiries. Lu Dengyu, a sophomorefrom the Business School of Nankai University, felt deeply when he looked at the statue of land reform: "the land reform has enabled farmers to acquire land, and farmers have begun to trust and support the government. Taking the people as the center is an important magic weapon for the party to break free from the historical cycle rate!" Wang Yinuo, a first-year junior high school student, wrote this sentence in her notebook: "The Xibaipo Spirit of arduous struggle and the courage to challenge is like a lighthouse, illuminating our way forward."

Subsequently, teachers and students came to the former site of the Second Plenary Session of the Seventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China for on-site teaching. Sitting on the ground at the historical site, student representatives from junior high school, senior high school and university made speeches around their respective research topics in turn. The teachers of ideological and political courses in the three grade sections made speeches in combination with the teaching theme and students' research reports, and conducted on-site micro-courses respectively, which not only aimed at the learning situation and teaching requirements of this period, but also reflected the original intention of curriculum design with spiraling teaching content and educational objectives.

In Beizhuang Village,Xibaipo Town, the song "Unity is strength" resounded in that ear. In 2021, General Secretary Xi Jinping replied to the party members in Beizhuang Village, encouraging them to give full play to their vanguard and exemplary roles and unite withthe villagers to create a better new life. Teachers and students of the two schools were mixed into four investigation teams according to different grade sections and went to Beizhuang Village, Xibaipo Town, to make an in-depth investigation intothe "report card of taking the exam" of the Communist Party of China (CPC).Teachers and students walked into the village history museum, the intelligent greeenhouses, rural homestays, and the cloth shoes handicraft workshop. They interviewed the "master teachers" such as the secretary of the Party branch of Beizhuang Village and the leader of rural revitalization with questions and carried out field surveys, so as to appreciate the brilliant achievements of the new China in the past 75 years, feel the confidence in development, and sharpen the initial intention of taking the exam.

In the village Committee, the students learned from the village party secretary about the hard work of Beizhuang Village to create a "red resource+green industry" development model and gradually realize rural revitalization. They were moved by the firm belief and unremitting efforts of party member who remained true to their original aspirations and served the people wholeheartedly. At the smart greenhouse base, the students were pleasantly surprised to find that with the combination of technology introduction and policy support and the combination of government-enterprises cooperation and advanced demonstration,more and more branded small watermelons and tomatoes produced in smart greenhouses are being sold all over the country. In the villagehomestays, the students learned that the unified management of farmhouses and homestays can improve the income, and the homestays plan to expand the scale by using red cultural and tourism resources, and the tertiary industry in the old revolutionary areas isthriving; In the "United Beizhuang" handicraft workshop, the handicraft industry of making non-legacy Melaleuca cloth shoes brought considerable employment and income to the left-behind women, while the attempt of live broadcast with goods sold local specialtiessuch as cloth shoes and honey to the whole country.

After the integrated practical teaching course, students from different grade sections summarized what they have learned and felt in the practical process around the teaching themes of their own grade sections and the questionsin the "Grand Ideological and Political Course" practical teaching links, and carried out “after- class answering questionsto form effective feedback and evaluation of the course learning results. Practical achievements will also be transformed into publicity manuscripts, and the coverage and benefits of practical teaching achievements will be broadened through forms such as exchanges seminars and volunteer publicity.

According to reports, the School of Marxism of Nankai University has long been committed to the reform and innovation of practical teaching of ideological and political courses and the research and practice of the integration of ideological and political courses in primary, secondary, and tertiary schools. It has successfully applied for and been approved for the special key project of ideological and political courses of the National Social Science Foundation, namely "Research on the Integration of Practical Teaching of Ideological and Political Courses in Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary Schools from the Perspective of' the ‘Grand Ideological and Political Courses'". As an integrated cooperative unit, Shijiazhuang No.1 Middle School and Nankai University have carried out in-depth cooperation for many years. "Integrated practical teaching is intended to give full play to students' main role, and put students from different grade sections in the same teaching field, integrate different grade sections whilereflecting their differences, and strive to achieve a spiraling educational effect.
