Nankai University News Network News (correspondent Gao Tianqi, Zheng Yiwen, photographed by Liu Qianyi) On March 5th, on the occasion of the 127th anniversary of Premier Zhou Enlai's birth, Researcher Yang Mingwei, former director of the Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Bureau of the Institute of Party History and Literature of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and president of Zhou Enlai Thought and Life Research Association, visited Nankai University’s "Public Service and Competence Forum" and gave a report on "Further Deepening the Understanding of Zhou Enlai's Spirit andStyle". Niu Wenli, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Nankai University, presided over the event, and more than 100 teachers and students from the whole school participated on site.
At first, Yang Mingwei deeply analyzed his understanding and thinking on the profound connotations of "what kind of person is Zhou Enlai" and "the spiritual demeanor of Zhou Enlai" from the perspectives of the positioning of "three vivid miniature" and "six outstanding models" put forward by General Secretary Xi Jinping on the 120th anniversary of Comrade Zhou Enlai's birth and the important documentary expressions of "the spirit of Zhou Enlai" by the CPC Central Committee on the 100th and 110th anniversary of Comrade Zhou Enlai's birth.
He believes that the "three vivid miniature" highly summarizes Zhou Enlai's "life course" and highly condenses Zhou Enlai's brilliant image; "Six outstanding models" highly summarizes Zhou Enlai's spirit, morality and demeanor. In addition, from the process of studying the "Zhou Enlai Spirit" among the people, especially in the academic circles, the spiritual connotation and origin of it have been explored. Combined with his personal research results for many years, he proposed a concise summary of 20 sentences and 80 words of "Zhou Enlai spirit": Pursuing persistence, firm belief; Loyalty to the party, considering c the overall situation; Loyalty to the motherland, deeply loving the people; Courage to take responsibility,devoting oneself to the cause to the end ; Selfless and diligent; Strict with oneself,lenient towards others; Seeking truth from facts seeking common ground while reserving differences; Coordination and consultation,meticulous and thorough; Modest and prudent approachable; Adhere to principles , good at fighting.
Yang Mingwei said that Zhou Enlai's image and spiritual demeanor reflect the lofty image and temperament style of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Chinese nation and New China. It is a vivid portrayal of the spiritual spectrum and historical initiative of Chinese communists. Understanding Zhou Enlai means understanding the Communist Party of China (CPC). Zhou Enlai spirit originated from the essence of excellent traditional Chinese culture and the mission and responsibility of the Chinese communists. It is not only the precipitation of history but also the benchmark of the times, inspiring contemporary people to inherit the red gene and further devote themselves to the great cause of national rejuvenation with the motivation and mental state of "for the rise of China".
Niu Wenli said that General Secretary Xi Jinping once said with deep affection, Zhou Enlai is a glorious name and an immortal name. Whenever we mention this name, we feel very warm and proud. The students of Nankai University should take Premier Zhou Enlai as anexample, carry forward the century-old red bloodline of Nankai, closely combine the spirit of public service with the original aspiration and mission of the Party, hone their abilities through diligent study, scientific research, practical service and international exchange, practice the style of seeking truth and being pragmatic with down-to-earth actions, show their dedication and responsibility with a sense of patriotism and national pride, and write an outstanding youth answer sheet worthy of the times in the journey of national rejuvenation.
