Recently, Professor Yan Jiefeng from our school was approved to undertake a major special project of the National Social Sciences Foundation of China for explaining the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China - "Theoretical innovation and institutional building studies on adhering to the spirit of reform and strict standards for governance and governance." The topic aims to address the following question: in the new era, why is it necessary to govern the Party and the state with the spirit of reform? Why is it necessary to govern the Party and the state with strict standards? What innovative theoretical achievements have been made in governing the Party and the state with the spirit of reform and strict standards in the new era? What are the practical achievements and experiences of the mechanisms construction of governing the Party and the state with the spirit of reform and strict standards in the new era? What problems need to be solved in governing the Party and the state with the spirit of reform and strict standards in the new era? The topic focuses on elaborating on how to improve the mechanism construction of the governing the Party and the state in the new era, emphasizing the two key words of "the spirit of reform and strict standards" and " the mechanism of governing the Party and the state", and starting from the systematic perspective, the governance concept and the dialectical thinking, combined with actual investigation and research, the countermeasures and suggestions put forward are more focused on the organic connection, linkage integration, , coordination and joint efforts among various elements within the mechanism.
In the same year, several teachers of our school were also approved to undertake various national-level projects. Professor Qi Yanhong was approved to undertake a key project of the National Social Science Foundation of China – “Research on the Political Philosophy of the Construction of a Whole-Process People's Democracy”. Associate Professor Liu Yibo was approved to undertake the key project of the a special focus project of the National Social Science Foundation of China for the research on ideological and political theory in colleges and universities - "Research on the Integrated Practice Teaching of Ideological and Political Courses in Primary, Secondary and highschools under the Perspective of ‘Big Ideological and Political Course’”. Professor Ren Zhijiang was approved to undertake the later-stage funding key project of the National Social Science Foundation of China - "Research on the Strategy of Formulating and implementing National Modernization by the Communist Party of China"; Professor Xiao Guangwen was approved to undertake a general project of the National Social Science Foundation of China - "Research on the Construction of the Discourse System of the Self-Revolution of the Party in the New Era"; Associate Professor Meng Ruifeng was approved to undertake a general project of the National Social Science Foundation - "Research onDistributive Justice Theory with the Approach of Achieving a Better Life"; Professor Li Xing was approved to undertake the later-stage funding general project of the National Social Science Foundation of China - "The Study of Marx’s Justice Issue and Its Contemporary Meaning – Taking the Relevant Controversies Triggered by the ‘Tucker-Wood Theory’ as a Clue."
