On November 16, the 2024 National Academic Seminar on Ideological and Political Education was held in Nankai University. Scholars and experts from across the country gathered to discuss the theme Historical Review and Future Prospects for the Development of Ideological and Political Education. The opening ceremony was addressed by Ma Bo, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the Tianjin Municipal Committee; Zhang Zaisheng, Vice Chairman of the Tianjin Federation of Social Sciences; and Niu Wenli, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Nankai University. Xin Xiangyang, Director of the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by the Secretary of Party Committee of the School of Marxism of Nankai University.
The forum was co-hosted by Nankai University and the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. It was organized by the School of Marxism of Nankai University, the Department of Marxism Sinicization Research of the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the Think Tank for Marxist Theoretical Innovation of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Co-organizers included the editorial departments of Studies on Marxism, Journal of Ideological & Theoretical Education, Teaching and Research, Studies on Marxist Theory, Morality and Civilization, Journal of Nankai University(Philosophy and Social Science Edition), and Teaching and Research on Marxist Theory.
During five parallel sub-forums, experts engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as Xi Jinping’s Cultural Thought, Experiences and Connotative Development in the Discipline Construction of Ideological and Political Education, and New Trends in Youth Ideological and Political Education, exchanging academic perspectives and sharing research findings.
At the closing ceremony, the Secretary of Party Committee of the School of Marxism of Nankai University handed over the seminar flag to Ruan Chuankan, the Secretary of Party Committee of the School of Marxism of Fujian Normal University, which is the organizer of the next seminar.
Experts and scholars from various institutions attended the seminar, including the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Central School of the Communist Youth League of China (China Youth University of Political Studies), the Jilin Academy of Social Sciences, the Party School of Tianjin Committee of the CPC, the Baise Cadre College, the Propaganda Department of the Harbin Municipal Committee, as well as universities such as Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Jilin University, Shandong University, Wuhan University, Lanzhou University, Beijing Normal University, China University of Political Science and Law, University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Tongji University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Chongqing University, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Tianjin University, and Nankai University.
