In order to unremittingly raise students’ awareness of Xi Jinping Thought of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics For a New Era and constantly make the courses on political philosophy more appealing and targeted, ‘New Thought Leads to New Journey - New Youths Achieve Successes in the New Era’(National Great Learning Navigating Program Activities of the Ministry of Education)--Summary and Exchange Meeting of the 7th National Open Course Exhibition of Ideological and Political Courses by College Students was held on 24 August in Nankai Universitiy. Song Lingyun, deputy director of the Department of Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, Liang Qi, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Nankai University, and the person in charge of the Student Ideological Education and Management Department of the Tianjin Municipal Two Education Committee attended the event and delivered speeches. Liang Qi, Wang Xinsheng, former Vice President of Nankai University and Dean of the School of Marxism, awarded prizes to the winning team of the special prizes.
Nearly 100 representatives of award-winning students and instructors from universities and colleges across the country, representatives of the jury, and representatives of practice teaching bases for ‘Great Ideological and Political Course’ participated in the meeting, displaying their achievements and sharing their experiences. The person in charge of the microfilm ‘Ideological and Political Course in My Heart’ and the summer camp ‘Learning Star of Ideological and Political Course’, which are part of the Great Learning Pilot Program Activities, also made speeches.
During the two-day meeting, participants exchanged opinions and shared experiences in groups, focusing on the ‘walking courses on political philosophy’ and ‘courses on political philosophy in the venues’ for. Through the lectures of experts, experience sharing of award-winning teams and practice teaching bases for ‘Great courses on political philosophy’, and investigation and research in Pingjin Battle Memorial Hall and Tianjin Ancient Culture Street, etc., the participants explored together the new mode and path of building a teachers-students community and advancing the practice teaching of courses on political philosophy.
It is reported that the Open Course Display of Courses on Political Philosophy by College Students has been successfully held for seven ti successively since 2017, and is an important part of the thematic activities of the National Great Learning and Navigating Plan for studying Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. These activities aim to deeply implement the important speeches and instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the ideological and political course, taking Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a new era as the theme and main line, combining with the annual major theme, innovating ways and methods, fully mobilizing the enthusiasm, initiative and creativity of college students, persistently raising student’s awareness of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and educating and guiding the majority of students to unswerving follow the instructions and guidance of the Party.
A total of 2,627 works were received from undergraduate institutions and 1,775 ones from higher vocational institutions. Among the works from the undergraduate institutions group, 16 works were awarded for the grand prize, 44 works for the first prize, 92 works for the second prize and 148 works for the third prize. Among the works from the higher vocational institutions group, 15 works for the grand prize, 45 works for the first prize, 90 works for the second prize and 149 works for the third prize. Up to now, broadcasts of all the works have accumulated to more than 10 million and nearly 600,000 likes, which fully reflects the enthusiasm of young students for participation, highlights the influence of online communication of these works for the activities, and deeply reflects the awareness and will the contemporary young students bravely shoulder responsibilities of the times.
