On 12 April, the “Forum of Marxist Masters” of the School of Marxism was held in the classroom 113. Wang Shuyin, professor of the School of Marxism of Beijing Normal University, doctoral supervisor, and National Teaching Master, gave a lecture titled “The Generation and Development of Ideological-political Education of the Communist Party of China”. The lecture was presided over by Professor Wu Dongsheng of the School of Marxism.

In the lecture, Prof. Wang Shuyin made good use of historical materials and elaborated deeply four issues, namely, the disciplinary attributes of the history of ideological-political education of the CPC, the social foundation, development process and the historical experience of ideological -political education of the CPC. Professor Wang Shuyin believed that the history of ideological-political education of the CPC is highly related to the two disciplines of History of the CPC and the Ideological-political Education. Only by mastering both the theoretical resources and the ways of thinking of these two disciplines at the same time can researchers make solid research results.
Professor Wang Shuyin pointed out that there are two prerequisite issues for studying the social basis for the emergence of ideological-political education of the CPC . One is the historical inevitability of the founding of the CPC, which can be analyzed at four levels: the nature of society and its main contradictions, the production relations and the economic base, the political superstructure and the class base. The other one is the dissemination and acceptance of Marxism in China and its inevitability, which can be examined in depth from the theoretical foundations, the national conditions of China, the October Revolution and the truthfulness of Marxism.

Based on the centenary Development of the CPC, Professor Wang Shuyin divided the development process of ideological-political education of the CPC into four stages, namely the ideological- political education during the New Democratic Revolution, ideological- political education during the socialist revolution and construction, ideological-political education during the new period of reform and opening up and the socialist modernization, and ideological-political education in a New Era of Socialism with Chinese characteristics. He emphasized that historical periodizationand qualitative research are crucial to the study of the history of ideological- political education of the Communist Party of China.
At the end of the lecture, Prof Wang Shuyin shared the methods and insights of the research on ideological-political education of the Communist Party of China. Firstly, the specificity of ideological-political education should be reflected; secondly, the historical lineage of ideological- political education should be reflected; thirdly, the relationship between historical experience and political line should be correctly dealt with; fourthly, the empirical studies of should be specific, staged and thematic.

During the free questioning time, teachers and students asked Prof. Wang Shuyin about the relationship between the Communist Party of China (CPC) and ideological-political education, the significance of the ideological emancipation of the ‘two Combinations’, and the inheritance and development of the May Fourth Movement and the excellent traditional Chinese culture, etc. The atmosphere of the exchange was very warm.
More than 80 teachers and students from the School of Marxism attended the forum.
