On the morning of April 2, in order to actively respond to the principles of the 2024 World Digital Education Conference, accelerate digital education transformation and to enhance teachers’ understanding and application capabilities of the knowledge graph, the School of Marxism of Nankai University held an exchange meeting on the production of knowledge graph for ideological and political courses, based on platforms such as the Virtual Teaching and Research Department of the Basic Principle of Marxism, National Ideological and Political Masters Studio(Nankai University), Tianjin Collaborative Innovation Center for the Basic Principle of Marxism, and Collaborative Innovation Center for the Introduction to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. More than 20 people, including directors of teaching and research departments, teacher representatives and technical staff from Super Star, attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Professor Sun Shoutao, Vice Dean of the School of Marxism.
At the beginning of the group preparation meeting, Sun Shoudao introduced the reform and innovation model for ideological and political course of Nankai University. He pointed out that Nankai University has always insisted on educating students with Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, kept on revising teaching guidance plans and promoting the teaching of ideological and political courses with high standards. In the future, Nankai University will continue to focus on main courses and strive to build the “Golden Course”. In order to improve the teaching quality, it is necessary to make full use of digital means to innovate teaching methods, especially to promote the construction of ideological and political course with knowledge graph.
Against the background of our times, both the teaching and studying is undergoing tremendous changes. Knowledge graph is exactly a new teaching method that can break the limitation of teaching time and space, and provide personalized learning model with more efficient, convenient and accurate information means through the construction of knowledge system. Therefore, application of knowledge graph is an important direction and means for next teaching reform.
Technical staff from Super Star gave a detailed introduction to the construction concept and teaching application of knowledge graph, and demonstrated how to build knowledge graph to promote digital education reform. The construction of knowledge graph can not only provide students with a more systematic and comprehensive knowledge framework and learning resources, but also help teachers organize and manage teaching contents, improve teaching quality, and promote teaching innovation and scientific research.
During the exchange and discussion session, all participants expressed their opinions on how to build a knowledge graph of ideological and political courses. Teachers exchanged basic information of course construction and discussed the update of teaching technology based on their teaching experiences . They all said that the knowledge graph course groups do have advantages over traditional teaching, which can provide students with resources more accurately and help improve students’ learning efficiency.
In a word, knowledge graph course is a new type course that conforms to the development trend of modern education and is the current development direction of higher education. The School of Marxism will further implement the principles of Xi Jinping’s important speech during his inspection of Nankai University, support the advancement of the national education digitization strategy, focus on the construction of grassroots teaching units, give full play to the leading role of collective lesson preparation meetings, and strive to create a national benchmark, promote the construction of the knowledge graph of ideological and political course , focus on building “Golden Classroom” of ideological and political courses, effectively upgrade the level and quality of teaching, and contribute the strength of Nankai University to strengthen education of our country.
