On March 16, on the fifth anniversary of the Seminar with Teachers of Political Philosophy hosted by Xi Jinping, in order to thoroughly implement the principles of Xi Jinping’s important exposition on the construction of ideological and political courses and further raise students’ awareness of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, “Big Ideological and Political Course” Construction Experience Exchange Meeting among the national colleges and universities across the country was held in Nankai University. Xu Zhong, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee, Sun Zhiliang, Vice Secretary of the Education Work Committee of the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee, and Liang Qi, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee of Nankai University, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Wang Xinsheng, former Vice President of Nankai University, Dean of the School of Marxism of Nankai University, attended the meeting. The opening ceremony was hosted by the head of the School of Marxism of Nankai University.
Liang Qi introduced a series of achievements achieved by Nankai University in the reform and innovation of ideological and political courses. He said that this exchange meeting is of great significance to research, publicize and interpret Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, accelerate the modernization of education, build the “Big ideological and political course” education pattern, and to construct China’s independent knowledge system. Nankai University will continue to implement the principles of Xi Jinping’s important speech delivered during his visit to Nankai University, thoroughly implement Xi Jinping’s requirements on accelerating the construction of a powerful country of education, further promote the construction of the School of Marxism, and make more contributions in the construction of Marxist theoretical disciplines, the reform and innovation of ideological and political courses, the high-quality development of “Big ideological and political courses” and the cultivation of a new generation of talents
Sun Zhiliang pointed out that holding this meeting is of great significance. Based on the reality of Tianjin, he put forward three requirements for “Big ideological and political courses”: first, to grasp the key points to improve the quality of ideological and political courses; second, to grasp the key points of the construction of “Big ideological and political courses”; third, to grasp the key points of project construction of the base for “Big ideological and political courses”.
Xu Zhong pointed out that this meeting is both an experience exchange meeting and a theoretical seminar. He made three demands.Firstly, we must anchor the fundamental task of the construction of “Big ideological and political courses” so as to contribute to the development of New Quality Productivity; Secondly, we must gather resources for the construction of “Big ideological and political courses” and continuously promote theoretical innovation of our party; Thirdly, we must demonstrate the power of truth in practice based on the new requirements of construction of “Big ideological and political courses”He said that the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee attaches great importance to the construction of “Big ideological and political courses” and fully supports Nankai University to play greater role in reform and innovation of ideological and political courses, practice summary, thinking tank building, and so on.
During the discussions, representatives from 13 universities, including The Army Infantry College of PLA, Yunnan Normal University, Tsinghua University, Hunan University, Renmin University of China, Xinjiang University, Harbin Engineering University, as well as the Dean of the School of Marxism of Nankai University, made speeches in turns. They communicated in depth how too study, publicize and implement the principles of Xi Jinping’s important speeches, promote the high-quality development of the construction of “Big ideological and political courses” and how to take solid measure to build strong moral character.
The head of the Publicity Department of the Party Committee of Nankai University made concluding remarks. He said that the ideological and political course is not only the key one to cultivate talents but also the most important course for holding ideological front. All the above speeches by the experts were wonderful and contributed valuable wisdom and strength to the construction of “Big Ideological and political course”.
In the afternoon, participants followed the footsteps of Xi Jinping to conduct Investigation, and visited the Beijing-Tianjin Battle Memorial Hall and the Centennial History Theme Exhibition of Nankai University.
More than 60 participants attended the meeting, including representatives from the member universities of Tianjin School Research Alliance for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, representatives from some primary and secondary schools in Tianjin, and some teachers and students from the School of Marxism of Nankai University.
