The Academic Conference of "Contemporary World Marxist Thought and Capitalist Frontier Issues" Held in Tianjin
On May 20., the Academic Conference of "Contemporary World Marxist Thought and Capitalist Frontier Issues" , which was maily hosted by Information Resource Center of the Central Party History and Literature Research Centre, CCCPC and jointly sponsored by the School of Marxism of Nankai University, the Key National Bases for Textbook of Generality of Marxism Basic Principles in the Education in Political Philosophy of College, the Editorial Department of Foreign Theoretical Trends, the Editorial Department of Marxist Theory Education and Research, was held in Tianjin.
Xu Xianchun, Deputy Director of the Information Resource Center of the Central Party History and Literature Research Centre, CCCPC, and Niu Wenli, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Nankai University, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. The opening ceremony of the meeting was chaired by Fu Hong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Marxism of Nankai University.
Xu Xianchun expressed his gratitude for Nankai University, experts and scholars on behalf of Information Resource Center of the Central Party History and Literature Research Centre, CCCPC. He pointed out that on the occasion of studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, this seminar was based on China, overlooked the world and tracked the new progress of contemporary capitalist research in the Marxist academic society in the contemporary world. This seminar is of very important theoretical significance and value of the times for integrating Marxist resources and foreign philosophical and social science resources, and for deeply grasping the context and trend of Human history. In his speech, Xu Xianchun introduced the relevant work of Information Resource Center of the Central Party History and Literature Research Centre, CCCPC to the present experts, as well as the journal of the "Foreign Theoretical Trends" magazine, and expressed the expectations of strengthening exchanges and cooperation with colleagues in the academic circle. He hoped that all the experts and scholars attending the meeting would promote the Marxist academic and literary style, focus on the theme of the conference, express in-depth insights, conduct in-depth discussions and exchanges, and make the contributions of the theoretical workers to comprehensively build a socialist modern country and to comprehensively promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Niu Wenli welcomed the arrival of the participating experts and scholars on behalf of Nankai University and congratulated the convening of the meeting. He pointed out that holding this academic seminar is meaningful actions to study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, which will contribute to comprehensively understand the contemporary Marxist thoughts in the world, accurately grasp the new changes and new problems of contemporary capitalism and toprovide theoretical reference for the comprehensive advancement of the Chinese Path to Modernization. In his speech, Niu Wenli introduced the development history and status quo of the philosophy and social sciences,especially the development process, excellent tradition and development status of Marxism theory disciplines of Nankai University. He called on all experts and scholars to exchange discussions and suggestions on the construction and development of Marxism theory disciplines in Nankai University, giving better play to the agglomeration effect of high -end platforms.
During the one-day meeting, the participating experts and scholars conducted on a heated discussion and exchange around the themes as "The Frontier Issues of Contemporary Capitalism from the Perspective of Marxism", "Marxism and New Era", "Foreign Marxism and Major Contemporary Theoretical Issues", "Criticism of Political economy of Contemporary Capitalism" and other issues.
These seminars were chaired by Liu Fengyi, Dean and Prof. of the School of Marxism of Nankai University.
The conference summary was chaired by Wang Shengsheng, Deputy Dean and Prof. of the School of Marxism of Nankai University. Sun Bingyan, Lyu Jiayi, and Ren Ling, associate professors of the School of Marxism of Nankai University, reported to the conference in turn. Tao Yongxiang, Deputy Director of Information Resource Center of the Central Party History and Literature Research Centre, CCCPC and chief editor of "Foreign Theoretical Trends" magazine, summarized the conference. Tao Yongxiang pointed out that this seminar is an academic research activity carried out on the time of studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Participants and scholars closely conducted frank exchanges, shared literature information, reported research experience and collided ideas onmany issues. He hoped that all the attendees can take the opportunity of this seminar to strengthen editorial and research exchanges, carry out think tank cooperation, and jointly organize academic conferences to contribute to the acceleration of the construction of Chinese Philosophy and Social Sciences.
The seminar was attended by experts and scholars from the Central Party School (National Academy of Governance), the Central Party History and Literature Research Institute, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Renmin University of China, People's Publishing House, China Social Sciences Journal, magazine of Foreign Theoretical Trends, magazine of Teaching and Marxist Theory Education and Research, etc. More than 100 teachers and students from the School of Marxism, Nankai University participated.
