The 4th “Gongneng Cup” Student Academic Forum of the School of Marxism was successfully held
In order to thoroughly study and implement the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the 4th “Gongneng Cup” Student Academic Forum of the School of Marxism of Nankai University was held on May 7, 2023. The forum was presided over by Ma Mengfei, young teacher of the School of Marxism Dean of the School of Marxism Liu Fengyi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Wang Youjiang, Deputy Dean of the School of Marxism Yu Yifan, and Deputy Director of the Editorial Department of Teaching and Research on Marxist Theory Liu Mingming attended the forum. More than 20 undergraduate and graduate students participated.
At the beginning of the forum, Liu Fengyi, gave an opening speech. Dean Liu Fengyi pointed out that student activities and talent training should be organically integrated. And he provided guidance on learning methods for students, emphasizing that students should read more classic original works, strengthen theoretical study, and constantly improve themselves to become professional talents who promote the development of disciplines.
After the dean’s speech, deputy secretary of the party committee of the School of Marxism Wang Youjiang announced the winners list of “Gongneng Cup” and issued certificates to the winners together with other teachers.
During the keynote speech stage, Associate Professor Liu Mingming made a report titled as “Marx and Engels' thoughts on the unity of proletarian political parties”. Chen Boren and Feng Zhang Qingyu also reported on their own articles on behalf ofthe award-winners.
In the subsequent forum report session, the undergraduate sub-forum was held in classroom 208 while the postgraduate sub-forum was held in conference room 214. Five undergraduates, Ye Yangjun, Yuan Wenli, Shao Wenxin, Gao Haiyang and Wang Liting, and five graduate students, Zhang Zhichao, Zhou Yue, Wang Qian, Xiao Yinghui and Tian Ningtao, made reports respectively. These speeches covered various topics such as research on classic Marxist texts and basic theories, research on the Sinicization of Marxism and the history of the Communist Party of China.
Prof. Yu Yifan and Associate Prof. Liu Mingming commented on the reports of undergraduates and postgraduates respectively, and put forward pointed (targeted也可以的！)opinions and suggestions.
Finally, Prof.Yu Yifan made a summary of the conference. Yu Yifan spoke highly of this “Gongneng Cup” Student Academic Forum and hoped that students of the School of Marxism should continue to improve themselves and make more achievements.
It is reported that the “Gongneng Cup” Student Academic Forum of the School of Marxism of Nankai University has received unanimous praise, which is an important task to improve students' academic level and cultivate excellent Marxist theoretical talents. In the future, the School of Marxism of Nankai University will continue to promote the development of student academic forums.
