The finals of the 6th National College Youth Education Competition was held at Tsinghua University from April 20th to 24th. Associate Prof Liu Yibo from the School of Marxism of Nankai University won the first prize in the National College Youth Teacher Teaching Competition.
Liu Yibo works asassociate Professor at the School of Marxism of Nankai University with deeply researching in the history of the Soviet Areas and the Red Education Resources. He has won the first prize of the Ideological and Political Course Group in the National College Youth Teacher Teaching Competition, the Teaching Model in the Situation and Policy course of national universities, the first prize of the Ideological and Political Course Group in the Tianjin Youth Teacher Teaching Competition, the special prize of the Tianjin Teaching Achievement Award which he has participated as the core member, and the second prize of the Tianjin Area in the National College Teaching Innovation Competition. Meanwhile he has received plentiful honorary titles such as the Pending National College Supervisor Annual Personality Nomination Award, Tianjin Excellent Educator, and Tianjin Excellent Communist Youth League Cadre and so on. He has published more than 20 papers in various journals and newspapers, and has presided over multiple research projects such as the Ministry of Education's research project on educator ideological and political course in universities and the Tianjin Social Science Planning projiects.
He says this competition is a valuable opportunity to learn from colleagues across the country. Through this competition training, his teaching ability has been improved and his comprehension about the purpose of the competition “providing a good course” has been profound. Moreover, he will adhere to the glory and dream of being an ideological and political courses teacher, ensure that education performs its fundamental mission of fostering virtue, and will continue to apply himself to political philosophy education,, contributing to the development of the Party’s education cause and Tianjin’s education work.
Next year marks the 5th aniversary of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s inspection for Nankai University, as well as his important speech at a seminar with teachers of political philosophy. Our School of Marxism will continue to actively encourage teachers to take part in various teaching competition, integrate teaching and training, and contribute tobuild strong moral charater.. By strengthening the construction of Teacher Virtue Cultivation and enhancing the teaching ability, we will give political philosophy more theoretical substance and make it more inspirational, appealing and targeted and improve the quality of personnel train.
This competition is jointly sponsored by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and the Ministry of Education. Based on preliminary contest, 158 contestants from 31 provinces (districts, cities) and 121 schools of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps participated in the final. The competition aims to promote young teachers to grow and enhance their career development potential. With the concept of providing a good course, it strengthens curriculum ideology and politics, stimulates innovation motivation, promotes teaching and learning through competition, the improvement of young teachers' teaching level and quality, and the high-quality development of education.
