On the morning of April 20, 2023, the Department of Graduate Ideological and Political Theory held a collective lesson preparation meeting for ideological and political courses on the theme of Lei Feng's spirit will never be obsolete in the conference room 215 of the college. The lesson preparation meeting focused on the in-depth study and implementation of the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, the First Plenary Sessions and the Second Plenary Sessions of the 20th CPC Central Committee,. Theme of the meeting is how to promote the high-quality development of postgraduate ideological and political courses in the new era and new journey. Director of the Department Wei Yousu presided over this lesson preparation meeting. Vice Dean of the Sun Shoutao and nearly 10 teachers engaging in the teaching of ideological and political courses for graduate students attended this meeting.
First of all, the participating teachers have had an in-depth discussion on how to integrate the theme of Lei Feng's spirit will never be obsolete into three ideological and political courses for master students. The teachers unanimously agree that it is also indispensable to implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's instructions on activities of in-depth learning from Lei Feng. General Secretary Xi Jinping stresses that the Spirit of Lei Feng should be thoroughly clarified and explained so as to help young college students deeply grasp the connotation of the spirit of Lei Feng. General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions provide us with fundamental guidance and direction for us to teach Lei Feng's spirit well in our lectures.
Secondly, all the teachers gave their consierations on futher study and implementation of the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and how to promote the high-quality development of postgraduate ideological and political courses. Teacher Wei Yousu introduced in detail the teaching and research staff of the department, the historical tradition of the postgraduate ideological and political education of Nankai Universityand the teaching situation of the postgraduate ideological and political course this semester. She not only summarized the achievements but also put forward the problems and the improvement thoughts. Teacher Wang Chun emphasized that postgraduate ideological and political courses should make full use of MOOCs and other platforms to carry out teaching activities such as group exhibitions to strengthen teacher-student interactions and student participation,,stimulating students' enthusiasm and initiative in learning. In particular, she pointed out that postgraduate ideological and political courses shouldn’t neglect the difference among the students from different majors and class presentations are a bridge for students to communicate and an effective way to urge students to think deeply about political theory. The teachers also discussed the duplication and connection of teaching contents between graduate ideological and political courses and undergraduate ideological and political ones and emphasized the necessity to give full play to the initiative of teachers, timely follow the development of the party's innovative theory, distinguish theoretical levels, teach according to aptitude and effectively enhance the practical effect of educating people, and so on. Almost all the teachers believe that both science and engineering students and students majoring in humanities and social sciences such as history and political science have become increasingly interested in ideological and political courses and have shown a trend of being willing to think deeply since recently, which puts forward higher requirements for teachers' teaching. Everyone agrees that classroom teaching must provide students with a broader space for thinkingand more opportunities for display and communication with the help of new technologies, so as to more effectively guide students to know and believe and learn and think.
In addition, participating teacherss also discussed the construction of the teaching team and agree to seize the opportunity to widely absorb talents and enhance the teaching power of postgraduate ideological and political courses. Everyone also reaches a consensus on how to effectively promote the Three Entries of the spirits of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, such as summarizing the excellent traditions and good experience in time, collectively tackling key problems, cooperating mutually to promote high-quality teaching and research, and so on. Finally,all the participating persons have looked ahead to the new journey of the graduate ideological and political course of Nankai University .
