The Party Branch of Class 3, Master Grade 2022 from the School of Marxism Carryied out publicity and Co-construction Activities in Mingjun Community

In order to uphold and develop Marxist economics at home and abroad, to study foreign economic theories, and to promote the study, publicity and research of the guiding principles from the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the 31st Annual Conference of China Institute for Foreign Economic Theories was successfully held in Nanjing from April 7 to 9, 2023. This conference was jointly organized by the Research Center of Marxist Economic and Social Development of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Marxist Principles Research Department of the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the Business School of Nanjing Normal University. The opening ceremony of the forum was presided over by Bai Junhong, the Dean of Business School of Nanjing Normal University. Professor Hua Guihong, the President of Nanjing Normal University, delivered a welcome speech. Professor Cheng Enfu, the President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, gave the opening speech. Professor Wang Shengsheng, doctoral students Qi Weikang and Chen Yubin from the School of Marxism of Nankai University were invited to attend the conference.

During the conference, Professor Cheng Enfu, made a keynote speech titled as“Modern Western economics is difficult to guide the healthy development of the capitalist market economy”. Professor Hua Guihong,Professor Zhang Xian from Sichuan University, Professor Meng Jie from Fudan University made speeches on  “From Financial Revolution to Industrial Revolution: Reflections on the Development Direction of New Finance”,  “Critical Investigation of the Keynesian ‘Liquidity Trap’ Hypothesis”,and  “State-owned capital as a production relationship”  respectively. Other experts deliveredspeechs in turn: Professor Li Ling from Peking University on “Chinese-style modernization and economic theory innovation”, Professor Zhang Erzhen from Nanjing University on “building an open economics discipline system”, Professor Zhu Andong from Tsinghua University on “Changes in income distribution in Western countries during the neoliberal period and their causes Analysis”, and Professor Zou Wei from Wuhan University on “Research on China’s Intergenerational Human Capital Transmission from the Perspective of Extended Family”, Professor Huang Kainan from Shandong University on “Frontier Theory Exploration of Institutional Economics”, Professor Qiao Xiaonan from Nankai University on “Production Concentration and Labor Income Share: A Political Economy Perspective”.

In the sub-forum discussion period, Professor Lu Jiang from Zhejiang University, Professor Guo Yimeng from the Sichuan Provincial Party School of the Communist Party of China, Professor Guo Guanqing from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Professor Chen Qiyuan from Xiamen University, Professor Liu Wen from Shandong University, Professor Xiao Bin from Xiamen University, Professor Tao Shigui from Nanjing Normal University and other scholars gave their opinions on “Research on Western Economic Thought and Marxist Economic Thought, “Theoretical Research on Xi Jinping’s Economic Thought and Chinese-style Modernization”, “Research on the New Scientific and Technological Revolution and the Evolution of Economic Thought”, “Research on Frontier Economic Theory in the Era of Great Changes” and “Research on Common Prosperity in the New Era” respectively. Deputy director of the editorial department of Economic Perspectives Li Rengui,, deputy director of the editorial department of Economist Xiao Lei,, director of the editorial department of Shanghai Journal of Economics Li Zhengtu, a  researcher from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Professor Wang Shengsheng from the School of Marxism of Nankai University gave comments finally.

The China Institute for Foreign Economic Theories is a national economic association for the study of foreign economic theories, which was initiated by Professor Chen Daisun and other famous economists and established in Beijing in September 1979. The China Institute for Foreign Economic Theories has held 31 annual conferences so far, and has developed into one of the largest and the most influential academic events in the field of foreign economics in China, with the most active academic exchanges, making outstanding contributions to the development and internationalization of Chinese economics.
