The College of Ideological and Cultural Education of Nankai University, established in 1997, is a professional college committed to both teaching and research across a broad range of programs of all levels. In the field of teaching, the College offers all kinds of courses of ideological and cultural education for all the students of the university in order to cultivate and produce talented personnel with ideological and cultural background . The College is authorized to offer bachelor's degree in ideological education to meet the social demands, and meanwhile it has 9 MA programs and 7 Ph.D. program s to cultivate students with higher and more theoretical goals.

       Currently, the college has 55 faculties, including 12 professors; eight of them are doctoral supervisors, and 21 associate professors. Among 46 faculties under the age of 55 , thirty-three have already received Ph.D. degree or are doctoral candidates. In addition, 4 well-known scholars have contributed to the teaching and research in the college as concurrent professors.

       As a research institution, the college is actively involved in research in areas of humanities and social sciences, especially Marxism and the ideological education, and has published a lot of books and articles. In recent years, the college has been undertaking more than 50 projects of humanities and social science from Tianjin Municipal Government, Ministry of Education, ministries of State Council and National Social Science Foundation.

       The college also has academic exchanges with some universities and academic institutes in foreign countries. We have invited some well-known overseas scholars for lectures and meanwhile sent teachers abroad as visiting scholars or fellows.
